La Dolce Vita.

(Image found here)

Tonight thanks to the Coolidge Corner Theatre I am going to see La Dolce Vita on the big screen with the lovely Christina from Hello World. It should be favoloso! If you haven't seen La Dolce Vita yet it is beautiful, but not for the light of heart, it is heavy in symbolizing and drama, which makes it just great in my opinion. I am so excited I just might have to put on a beautiful dress and jump into a fountain! Buona notte darlings!

Hallelujah for Rufus Wainwright

Okay so maybe this song is depressing a bit, but I just love it and Rufus Wainwright.

Okay and for something a little less depressing by him..

Something French.

After seeing 500 Days of Summer the first thing my friend and I discussed was this amazing song in French from the movie. So of course when I got home I had to download it and listen to it repetitively.

For some reason I believe I wasn't the only one who fell in love with this because I remember seeing it on someone's blog or twitter.

Another Beautiful Advertisement.

Kiera Knightley is the face of Chanel Mademoiselle and the newest advertisements are beautiful. There has been a lot of fuss on the airbrushing of this photo (her breasts on the image above) but that doesn't bother me one bit. It is a perfect photo and I wish I could have a picture this perfect of me.

It also makes me want to run out and buy some perfume, but that's the idea.

Guess Who Won Something.

This Monday my day was brighten when I learned that I won the Midtown Girl Giveaway, a Ame & Lulu Monogrammed Cosmetic Bag! I was super excited, as I never win anything and these bags are adorable. So thanks again Midtown Girl, and if you guys have not checked out her blog it is a must.

La Vie en Rose

Also in the September issue of Elle was this advertisement for Dior with Marion Cotillard (above). I had heard that she was doing their advertisements but this was the first time I saw one. So of course I went onto google and searched for some more and they are all beautiful. "Yes I googled"

I first caught sight of Marion while watching the Oscars two years ago and thought she was fabulous. I mean who didn't that dress, her accent, her hair and amazing completion.

I finally saw her in La Vien en Rose last night thanks to Netflix instant movie viewer and it was beautiful Marion was amazing in it. She really became lost in the character of Edith, there is a reason she won the Oscar people. The movie also made me fall in love with red lipstick again, I have to find myself a good one.

I also saw her in Public Enemies with Johnny Depp this summer and she was perfect. Her acting was beautiful not to mention you couldn't keep your eyes off her (I wasn't even jealous that she was kissing Johnny..okay maybe a little).

Plagiarism

(Image found here)

Lately I have been hearing a lot about blog plagiarism especially from the English Muse who had the unfortunate fate of having most of the blog stolen. This makes me incredibly sad, bloggers work very hard on their entries and to have it just stolen is ridiculous. As a relatively new blogger I have been trying very hard to site my work, whether it is saying where a image is from, or where I first saw the particular item/subject. If I make any flaws in my effort I am sorry and hope that if I do make a mistake someone will contact me regarding any issue and I will then do my best to fix it. Thanks for listening to my rant. Please respect blogger's work.

Key to My Heart.

When my grandmother died she left my brother two things; her many sets of Rosary beads (he was religious at the time) and a skeleton key. My brother being the sentimental type has worn that skeleton key around his neck on a shoelace for the longest time, I always thought it was a cute way to remember her, but on a shoelace?! Well I guess my brother was fashion forward because now Tiffany's is releasing a line of silver and gold keys on chains (much better than a shoelace). All I have to say is that they are beautiful and I would love one.

Wowza

Yesterday I bought Elle's September issue and their cover girl is Jennifer Aniston, who (whom?) I love. But I guess not everyone does since all the tabloids saying how desperate she is and such. But poo on them I find her gorgeous, funny and very down to earth whenever I read anything about her or hear her give an interview.  Any-who, Jen looks amazing in these pictures that will make any straight red blooded male head straight for the bathroom for a cold shower.

Ten Things To Love.

1. Book: A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving, I first read this book for summer reading in high school and I fell in love with it and John Irving. I just finished reading Cider House Rules and it was equally fantastic, Irving is a true story teller.

2. TV Show: 30 Rock, this just might be the funniest show on TV, that Tina Fey is a hoot. "I want to go to there."

3. Movie: Moulin Rouge!, I think this is my most watched movie, if you haven't seen it yet what are you waiting for; music, dancing, and romance!

4. Shoes: MIA "Outlaw" western bootie, adorable.

5. Place: Seattle, for some reason I have been dying to visit Seattle lately. It just seems like a beautiful city.

6. Blog:  Natty Michelle, Natalie's blog is incredibly cute and always makes me smile.

7. Celebrity Style Crush: Leighton Meester as Blair Waldorf, I love seem to love everything Blair wears, and after seeing these images on Love, Lipstick and Pearls I was crushing big time.

8. A Man of the Moment: Patrick Dempsey, I just re-watched Made of Honor recently, not a fantastic movie but cute and so is Mr. Dempsey (I am also in love with how they dressed him in it tons of button up shirts my favorite on a man).

9. Clothes: This gorgeous sweater I saw in the September issue of Lucky. I love it with the button up shirt nice contrast.

10. Music: Imogen Heap's new album Ellipse, so beautiful.

Anyone have $2.7 Million?

(Image from Yahoo)

This unique house is the "skinniest" house in NYC, it is just 9 1/2 feet wide and 42 feet long. It has famous former owner such as, anthropologist Margaret Mead and poet Edna St. Vincet Millay. The three story house boast plenty of light and a skylight. The current owner bought it for 1.6 million dollars in 2000 and it's asking price is 2.7 million dollar. Even though the space is quite strange I think it would be a fantastic design challenge. I wish there were pictures of the inside.

"Don't Sit Under an Umbrella Waiting for Rain"

(Image found here)

While walking during the torrential downpour today on the way to return at book at the library, I started thinking about umbrellas (while I was cursing the rain) and how they really are beautiful and part of an overall fashion statement. They also reflect a person's personality just like anything else they own. So take a gander at these lovely images.
