7 Things..

The lovely Claire from Culinary Goddess tagged me to post 7 random facts about myself. Claire's blog is just wonderful with some great recipes, if you are a cooking fan go check it out! So here it goes..

1. I still have my blanket which was given to me when I was an infant (it looks like the ones above but light green no silk edging and a whole lot of holes).

2. I am terrified of poultry..chickens..turkeys..really any kind of bird but chickens are the worst (Maybe what happen to the baby above happened to me when I was a babe).

3. I wish I could get into working out, I have been trying to get into this for so long..maybe this year will be the year.

4. When I was in the first grade they had to get a desk from sixth grade for me because I was so tall.

5. I would really love to own a dog of my own but the idea of picking up another animals shit is too much for me to handle..this may change as I am dying for a dog.

6. I would love to take ballroom dancing lessons.

7. I made daily pop culture and movie references. I can always find something in life that reminds me of a movie or tv show, but shouldn't it be the other way around? (I just did it again, I've Got Mail, I think Meg Ryan says something like that)

And I tag Natalie, Elizabeth Bennet, Jaime and Christina..I can't wait to read yours!

Willfully Wonderful Wonderland

I recently watched Phoebe in Wonderland, starring Elle Fanning, the movie tells the story of Phoebe a young girl with a fantastic imagination but some strange behavioral issues.

When Phoebe is cast in the school production of Alice and Wonderland the story starts to merge with her life.

The movie was just fantastic, Elle was incredibly moving (those Fannings must have super actor genes) and the story was so sweet and uplifting.

While watching the movie I became inspired by Phoebe and her sister's clothing. Both who are around 10 years old wear the cutest tights, dresses, and skirts imaginable.

Since I was so inspired I decided to style an outfit so every girl can go to wonderland with Phoebe.

Silk Twyla Tank, JCrew
Simple and a little grown up to play with all the "little girl" inspired items

Speaking of little girl inspired items channel your inner child and Carrie Bradshaw in this tutu skirt from Nordstrom

Pair it with these fun tights for a truly Alice touch

A JCrew schoolboy blazer to play with the tutu and skirt (I love mixing girly and menswear inspired items)

A pair of
Louboutins are always needed for a fun night out in Wonderland.

Add a watch necklace so you won't be late for that very important date!
And some fun and girly earrings to finish the fun outfit! Now you are all set for the tea party!

Currently Adoring

New things I am adoring and savoring..
I have been lusting after this since July, but now I am the happy new owner thanks to my Aunt who bought it for me for Christmas. I love it so much more now that I own it, it's the perfect size and looks lovely with pretty much everything!

Lola was another item I have being craving for quite sometime but once again Christmas saved the day another lovely family member got me this and Chanel Mademoiselle. Both are such clean and beautiful scents and work in great rotation with my Chanel Chance.

I went to see John Irving at a book reading in October where he spoke about this book and his writing process, Irving is one of my favorite authors and this book is just an addition on a long list of things I love about him.

I had never seen Mad Men until recently but just the look of it told me I would love it. I just finished season one and loved every minute of it, season two will be next on my Netflix.

British Mini-Series
Thanks to the wonder that is Winter Break I have been watching movies and tv on Netflix instant view non-stop. Lately all I have been watching is British Mini-Series, it started with North and South, went onto Wives and Daughters and finished with the Tenant of Windfell Hall. All of which I enjoyed and highly recommend.

This gorgeous dress from Forever 21
I ordered this online last night lets hope its cute on me. I just think it would look so cute with tights, boots, and a blazer.

Golden Globes!

Sunday are the Golden Globes, I cannot wait for the glitz and glamour. I think watching the red carpet is my favorite but I also like watching the show and narrowing down my list of Oscar movies to see before February. Ricky Gervais is hosting this year so I'm sure it will be funny and fabulous! Will you be watching?

Stress Season

I have to remember sayings like this for the next few months.
This coming Wednesday marks the start of my last semester for my undergraduate degree. I have my thesis to design which will I'm sure become a major headache, but as the print says "Just Keep Calm and Carry On".

I am very excited to say the least that this is my last semester but I am also scared to death of finishing my thesis (and making it AMAZING), and enjoying the last experiences of college, all while trying to find a job in this economy.

I will try my best to update this blog frequently as it is something I truly enjoy and the bloggy friends I have got to know through this are amazing. Their posts and tweets make my day even if they don't realize it.

In addition to this blog I have created a tumblr "Reaching for Inspiration" as I receive inspiration from images and words daily, but they do not always equal a post for "Reaching for the Moon". "Reaching for Inspiration" will therefore share those musings and allow me to be inspired by others. I know it may seems odd that I am saying to you that I might not be as frequent on here but I am adding another "blog" to my plate, but I hope together the two will allow me to fulfill my "blogging bug".

P.S. Welcome to the few new followers! I love hearing from you all comments are appreciated! I hope to check all your blogs out as well!

Another Audrey to Adore

Last night I watched the movie Priceless. The French movie tells the story of a playgirl who only dates men for money and mistakenly woos a shy bartender thinking he is a wealthy suitor. It is a delightful, fun, and light comedy.

Starring Audrey Tautou as the playgirl it is impossible not to like her. She is smart and beautiful and knows how to charm her men into getting what she wants. Although she is a very strong women she shows weakness which is what makes her even more appealing as a character. This is one of the first movies I have watched with Audrey Tautou and she is just a treat; unrealisticly beautiful and charming you cannot but wish you resembled her.

If you liked Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's I'm sure you would enjoy this one as it has similar ideas. Both tell the story of a playgirl falling for a poor man, but this one the poor man has more moxie and doesn't sit and watch. After watching Priceless I cannot wait to see more of this Audrey as I have had many of her movies in my Netflix queue for a while.
